China remains attractive investment destination: report

According to the 2025 Special Report on the State of Business in South China, released by the American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China), China remains a highly attractive investment destination. The report, based on a survey of 316 companies, indicates that 58% of foreign companies rank China among their top three investment priorities. Notably, 76% of companies plan to reinvest in China in 2025, with American companies showing a significant increase in reinvestment intentions, up 11 percentage points year-on-year to 74%.

This strong confidence is driven by the growth potential of the Chinese market, the industrial cluster effect, and favorable government policies. ExxonMobil China's recent launch of trial production at a new petrochemical project in Guangdong and the establishment of a cutting-edge technology center underscore this trend.

China's commitment to opening up is further demonstrated by the removal of all restrictions on foreign investment in the manufacturing sector. This policy change is expected to boost investment activities and expand the country's manufacturing capabilities. Moreover, China's action plan to stabilize foreign investment, including expanding access in sectors like telecommunication, biotechnology, and medical services, reinforces its dedication to creating a business-friendly environment.

AmCham South China estimates that its member companies have earmarked $14.59 billion for reinvestment over the next three to five years, a 33.18% increase compared to the previous figure. This substantial reinvestment signals a strong belief in China's future and a desire for increased U.S.-China cooperation. For businesses in the import and export sector, these trends present significant opportunities for expansion and collaboration in one of the world's most dynamic markets. #ChinaInvestment #ForeignInvestment #GlobalTrade #AmCham #SouthChina #ImportExport #BusinessOpportunities
